Casino Stud Poker
Play head to head with the Dealer with Casino Stud Poker. Simply beat the Dealer, not necessarily to have the highest hand. The Dealer only plays with an Ace, King or higher, meaning you can win, even if you have no qualifying hand.
How to Play
The Table
Betting positions will be marked for the player(s).
The betting position shall have two betting areas. The one furthest from the player shall be marked "Ante" and the one closer to the player shall be marked "Raise".
The Cards
The game shall be played with a single deck of 52 cards.
The cards will be shuffled after each hand.
Wagers
Players will place a bet on the "ante" betting position in front of them to signify that they wish to participate in the game. Bets must be placed before any cards are drawn. Bets on the Progressive Jackpot alone are not acceptable without an accompanying "Ante" bet.
The maximum and minimum wagers permitted shall be displayed before a player 'goes to the table'.
The Deal
The Dealer will deal one card at a time to the player and then one to himself, until player and dealer have five cards each. Each of the player's cards will be dealt face up, with each successive card being placed on top of the previous one, offset slightly so that it can be seen how many cards have been dealt. Only the Dealer's fifth card will be dealt face up.
After looking at their cards, the player will decide whether to make a further bet. This subsequent bet, which must in all cases be exactly twice the player's "Ante", is called the "Raise" and will be represented by chips being placed in the betting area so marked. If the player chooses to fold, the Dealer will take the "Ante".
After the Player has made their decision to either fold or raise, the Dealer will expose the four face down cards.
In order for the game to continue, the Dealer must be holding Ace/King or better (hereinafter, called a "qualifying hand").
If not, the Dealer will:
Call "No Hand", and immediately pay all "Ante" bets at even money.
Deal with any winning Progressive Jackpot hands.
Collect the player's virtual cards.
If the Dealer has a qualifying hand, his hand will then be compared to the player's hand the highest ranking poker hand of the two will win. In ranking the hands, Aces will always be high except when used in a low straight, Ace to 5, when they will have a value of 1.
All cards will be taken into account in assessing the ranking, for example:
Dealer - 10, 10, A, 7, 2
Player - 10, 10, A, 5, 3
The Dealer wins as the 7 outranks the 5.
The ranking of hands is as follows, in descending order:
Royal Flush
Straight Flush
Four of a Kind
Full House
Flush
Straight
Three of a Kind
Two Pairs
One Pair
Odds and Bonus Payments
When the Dealer does not hold a qualifying hand, players who have placed a "Raise" receive even money on their "Ante".
If the Dealer does hold a qualifying hand and the player, having placed a "Raise", has a hand which outranks it, the player will be paid 1 to 1 on his "Ante" wager and will be paid on his "Raise" bet, depending on the value of his hand, in accordance with the following:
1 pair or less: Even money
2 pairs: 2 to 1
Three of a Kind: 3 to 1
Straight: 4 to 1
Flush: 6 to 1
Full House: 8 to 1
Four of a Kind: 20 to 1
Straight Flush: 50 to 1
Royal Flush: 100 to 1
A Progressive Jackpot wager is lost if the player folds his hands or does not have one of the following hands that qualify for a payout:
The Additional Progressive Jackpot
The player has the option of wagering on the Progressive Jackpot, when available. A "Coin Accept" slot, or similar, will be provided in front of each "Ante" betting area. The player may then wager on the Progressive Jackpot for the upcoming hand at the same time as they place their "Ante" bet.
Royal Flush
Straight Flush
Four of a Kind
Full House
Flush
Winning hands are paid in order from the dealer's left to his right in accordance with a payout schedule and rules to be agreed.
Miscellaneous
It is the players' own responsibility to establish the value of their own hand.
